United Communications Group is not a single business unit but a group of media platforms under a single parent. They were running out of space and were looking to renew their lease or move to another location. The real problem was not the need for expansion, but a single clearly organized space that recognizes plural brands, allowing for self-expression while still being a unified whole. The space was designed using flexible workplace planning principles, saving roughly 30% of floor area from existing to new. A new data center, conferencing space with clean lines and daylight throughout, was built on budget within schedule. The project won an IIDA Design Award. Design Principal & Partner, Mancini Duffy.
