Chesapeake Village Masterplan

Cheasapeake Village

Chesapeake Village is a community of homes located in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland off of route 261 or Bayside Road. It is bounded to the south by the unincorporated Summer City community. It is one of a number of residential developments and has 222 lots spread over a total platted area of 115 acres. The project was completed in 2014.

As a residential community, it relies on Chesapeake Beach for mixed uses and specific amenities. The neighborhood does not have its own park, but Brownie’s Beach (Bayfront Park) is within walking distance. It is less than a mile away from Beach Elementary School and the Chesapeake Station Shopping Center. There are also, other parks, local shops, and several restaurants within driving distance. The Chesapeake Beach Water Park, boardwalks, public beaches, and full-service marinas are also close by. Natural attractions like Fishing Creek, the Randle and Calvert Cliffs formations as well as the Bay itself create a dramatic backdrop for residents.

This project has been envisioned to look at Chesapeake Village in its context to fully understand and enhance those things that make it truly special. This was done through several lenses: a rigorous site analysis, a site observation tour, benchmarking of other communities, input from the HOA culminating in a plan that combines a priority list of recommendations and suitable potential locations.
